Heritage

At Oak Gardens, we have many years of experience caring for families from all walks of life. Families come to us because they know we lead in passion, excellence in service, and have the highest integrity in the profession.

 

Oak Gardens Home & Memorial Chapel
was built in 1956 and has a 10,000-square-foot full-service facility capable of assisting families both locally and throughout the world. The funeral home includes a 250-seat chapel and 22 staterooms.

 

We were founded in 1923 and in 1933 David Sims was named general manager. Six years later, he acquired full ownership of the cemetery. He developed Oak Gardens as a beautifully landscaped park complete with in-ground memorial markers. Oak Gardens has had over 36,000 interments/entombments and has over 27,000 property owners.

 

The Staff

 

Martin Warry, A Licensed Funeral Arranger and Funeral Home Manager.

Martin has been serving in the funeral industry for 28 years with 17 years dedicated to Jacob & Co. He attended SMU University. Martin is a member of Shriners and many charities. Martin also attends First Baptist Church. His hobbies are fishing,  polo, and archery.

 

Sherry Bulmer, a Licensed Funeral Arranger. Sherry was reared in the funeral business. She is a fourth generation funeral director with 16 years of licensed experience in the industry. She has been at Oak Gardens for 9 years. Sherry graduated from Texas Christian University with a Masters in Latin and obtained her funeral director’s license. She enjoys film, opera, and playing volley ball.

 

 

Samuel Garret, Licensed Funeral Arranger

Samuel has been in the funeral industry for 43 years and licensed just as long. He has been at Oak Gardens for 8 years. Sam is involved with the Byron Nelson Golf tournament. He also served in the air force for 6 years. Sam's hobbie's are racing and wood working.

 

Bill Bratcher, Licensed Funeral Arranger.

Bill has been a licensed funeral director for 20 years and has been at Oak Gardens for 5 years. Bill was graduated from University of North Texas with a masters . He plays many sports and enjoys traveling with his family.

 

Facilities

 

Oak Gardens Cemetary contains in excess of 115 acres with additional acreage available for future expansion. The park features include Morgan Chapel, the Frontage Mausoleum and Chapel, and the Woodland Mausoleum. Special sections have been developed for veterans, babies, and various religions. The Babble River includes a mausoleum and garden located on the North East corner of the cemetery. At Oak Gardens, we offer many types of unique and personalized options to commemorate the lives of loved ones and to help ensure that memorials will endure for years to come. Whether your preference is interment below ground or interment above ground such as in one of of our mausoleums or even a memorial choice for cremation, we have packages ranging in price and style to suit your needs.
